2016 White House Christmas ornament was chosen to honor the administration of Herbert Hoover. Herbert Hoover served as the 31st president of the United States. 1929 - 1933.
This 3-dimensional fire engine is a toy fire engine given out by President Hoover and his wife to children attending a White House Christmas Party.
MADE in the USA.
Made from shiny brass, finished in nickel followed by 24kt gold. This White House Christmas Ornament is screen printed with exquisite color.
Christmas in 1929 was memorable for many in the United States. In the White Hosue, there was an electrical fire that broke out in the West Wing. Right before the White House children's Christmas party. The White House Oval Office was gutted, but Mrs. Hoover was determined to keep the party on schedule.
The next year the same children were invited back for another Christmas party and each child was given a toy fire engine as a gift.
