About The Artist
Kurt Meyer-Eberhardt was born in 1895 in Leipzig. He
studied at the Academy in Weimar under Lyonel Feininger.
He rejected a professorship in Weimar and went to
Munich, where he devoted himself to animal painting.
Since 1917, his etchings were published in the
Hanfstaengl Verlag in Munich. Meyer-Eberhardt
died in 1977 in Munich.
Copper Etching Technique
The drypoint is subtracted from the original created
by Kurt Meyer-Eberhardt copper plate. The color is
applied and wiped off as it has adapted during
the lifetime of the printer, the artist.
The etching is printed on hand-made paper torn
