This purse has quite a history. Not simply an interesting and chic leather purse, it is actually a WWII period Swiss Army issue map case!
Beautifuuly transformed into lovely and functional leather purses in Austria, they come adorned with pewter fittings and hardware. The map case itself is quite hard to better protect the maps and the Austrian makers have simply added the hardware and the generous adjustable shoulder strap.
Each one is stamped on the back in tiny letters with the name of the soldier to whom it was issued. This particular purse is stamped,F. Lerch Derendingen 85.
Note the beautiful stitching that has stood the test of time, the hallmark of quality construction.
