Struwwelpeter Fairytale
Willhelm Schweizer Zinnfiguren (Pewter) Written by a Frankfurt, Germany physician when he could not find stories he liked for his own children, Heinrich Hoffman created the popular Struwwelpeter stories and had them published under this title in 1858. There are ten stories, all with clear moral issues demonstrating disastrous consequences of misbehavior! I must say, my German grandparents presented me with this book in 1953 and to this day, I get a little queasy when I see the cover! Still, I enjoyed the stories and they remain a German classic to this day. In this section you will find beloved Struwwelpeter characters from these stories. These are great collectibles and they are all hand made in Germany. |
