This is a beautiful hand painted pewter Nativity set made after the original from F.X. Schmaedl (1705 - 1777).
It was, in its original form, a Roccoco nativity hand carved from wood and made for the Cloister Church in Diessen in Germany.
This complete set by Wilhelm Schweizer is entirely hand cast pewter and each piece is hand painted on both sides.
This is a true family heirloom in the making and worthy of being handed down from generation to generation.

The pieces are roughly 4" in size and the stable is roughly 8" in height.

Die originale Holzkrippe, die als eine der schoensten Rokoko Krippen gilt,wurde vom Kuenstler fuer die Diessener Klosterkirche geschnitzt.
Die Zinnfiguren entstanden anlaesslich der Restaurierung der Klosterkirche.
Der komplette Satz enthaelt 24 Teile, Maria mit Kind, Josef, Kaspar, Melchior, Balthasar, Page mit Perd, Page mit Kamel, Balthasars Page mit Weihrauch, Engel,4 Hirten, 6 Schafe, Kuh, Esel, Stall, Palme, Saeule, Stern, Gefaess mit Gold und Edelsteinen, Myrrhe.
Koerpergroesse der Figuren ca. 3-10cm.
