Tired of all that plastic? Tired of worrying about toys and nursery decorations from Asia? Me too. These delightful wooden toys are hand made in Austria and have been popular for many, many years. They are still made the same way they were in simpler times. I know that our display of colorful Hampelmaenner in our Middleburg shop is always a very popular destination for children of all ages. Children just cannot resists pulling the string and watching them “dance”. Hampelmaenner are entirely made of wood and hand painted and when one pulls the string, the arms and legs move. There are many charming characters from which to choose! |
In Germany it is not unusual to see a whole cast of delightful Hampelmaenner hanging from the ceiling of the nursery, charming babies of all ages. *This is not a toy for children under three but can be safely displayed as a nursery decoration at heights not accessible by younger children.) |
